Oui Travel2021-03-24T07:58:28-05:00
In life there are chasers and makers of dreams. Here at Oui Travel we like to consider ourselves as makers… making dreams come true! In the very old song by Dean Martin entitled ”Memories Are Made of This,” he sings of dreams and good times as the building blocks for memories. We like to think this is how we work. We take a dream, construct it so it becomes a reality, which then becomes the material of a cherished memory. One very interesting and special dream which became a reality was an adventure to Greece that we planned for our brother. He fell in love with the Greeks at the ripe old age of 10 after studying their accomplishments in social studies and had always hoped to get to visit the land where for many years democracy was thought to be born. Although he had been in the Navy as a young man and traveled the world, he never made it to Greece. How much fun it was to watch his face as he viewed the ancient ruins of Akrotiri in Santorini, explored the site of the first Olympics in Olympia, marveled at the blue of the sea, toured ancient Athens and relaxed among the locals in the plakas. He will tell anyone that the opportunity to sit on a marble wall, looking up at the Acropolis, while the music from a choir filled the air brought goose bumps. What could have been more ethereal? Tastes of the land also left their mark. Sweet memories are evoked and many stories of his visit to Greece are told each time he samples a fine olive oil, sips a good wine, or spreads a little honey on a piece of hearty bread. He marks that trip as one dream designed, delivered and memories stored.
World Class Travel2021-03-29T10:19:16-05:00
One of the most extensive trips our agency has planned was a six week family vacation for five people. The oldest daughter was heading off to college and the family wished to spend time together exploring the history of Europe by car, visiting several iconic cities, the fabled countryside and small towns of storybook fame along the way. With such a lengthy car rental required for this driving vacation, we recommended the car purchase and sell-back program offered by Auto Europe. This program saved the family around $2300.00 in car rental costs by purchasing a family-sized sedan made by Peugeot which could be sold-back at the end of the trip. The family began their trip in Rome staying at the upscale Marriott Grand only a 13-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. While in Rome we arranged private tours including an extensive visit to the Vatican on one day and the ancient Colosseum and Pantheon, a former Roman Temple now a church, on another day. We also arranged a skip-the-line tour of the Borghese Museum, an art gallery housed in a former villa filled with paintings by famous artists such as Bernini, Caravaggio, Peter Paul Rubens and Raphael. The family also visited Hadrian’s Villa, an archaeological complex in Tivoli constructed in the second century for Roman Emperor Hadrian. Heading out of Rome, the family drove to the famous resort town of Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast staying at the elegant Hotel Continental. After Sorrento, they headed north to Florence to the posh Grand Hotel Cavour a block form the Bargello National Museum and a five-minute walk to the Duomo. Then it was on to Venice and the ornate Hotel Canal Grande. After Italy, it was off to Austria with a stop in Innsbruck staying at Hotel Heimgartl, a cozy hotel housed in a Tyrolean-style building at the foot of a wooded cliff overlooking the Inn River. Then to Vienna and the Graben Hotel located in the old quarter five-minutes from the Hofburg Imperial Palace. After Vienna, the family drove through Bavaria and the Black Forest region of southern Germany. One of the stops was in medieval Rothenburg, a fairy-tale town of half-timbered houses and cobblestone lanes. Driving into France, the family stayed with friends in Strasbourg, the largest city in the Alsace region, with UNESCO World Heritage sites and world famous vineyards just outside the city. Then it was up to the small country of Luxembourg, where the Ardennes forest can be found. On the way to Paris, the family visited Reims, the champagne region of France. Upon arriving in Paris, we recommended the Paris Pass which offers admission to over 60 attractions and museums, and includes unlimited travel on the Paris Metro and taking the hop on hop off bus. By staying in Paris for several days, the family drove all around northern France to the Palace of Versailles, Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny, and the D-Day landing beaches in Normandy. Before the family traveled on the high-speed Eurostar train which traverses the English Channel from Paris to London, they sold the Peugeot back to an Auto Europe affiliate. While in London, we again recommended the London Pass and with several days in the city, they toured Buckingham Palace, Oxford Castle of the Norman period, Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, and many other famous places. And after six weeks, the family’s historical journey through Europe became one of their most memorable experiences and we are proud to have helped make that happen.

Blue Horizon Travel & Yacht Charters2021-03-24T08:43:10-05:00
Australia and New Zealand are huge countries, yet most people are only able to visit once in their lifetime. At BLUE HORIZON TRAVEL we have found that our clients appreciate traveling with a small group escorted by one of our consultants with advanced “Aussie Specialist” certification who have previously traveled to the destination. We like to add additional on-tour cultural experiences for just our clients. With every Blue Horizon group we plan pre-tour social & educational gatherings and always a fun post-tour photo and memory exchange. Recently we worked with Collette Tours to accompany 17 “first-timers” to both countries for a 3 week trip. We specifically asked for Peter Camara to be our tour manager as we had worked with him in 2007, and knew his level of expertise. Due to our special relationship with him, our Blue Horizon group was able to share his emails about visas, security for 8 airports, weather patterns, and special group interests PRIOR to departure. In Sydney we lined up a private Harbor Bridge Climb for 14 with a group photo and video message captured on top of the bridge to put on Facebook! We also toasted our accomplishments atop the Sydney Tower Eye with a much different view of old town Sydney. In the evening Blue Horizon arranged dinner at a “by invitation only” club called Watergrill Kirribilli with two Australian friends known by our agent. Our exclusive group experienced the best nighttime view of illuminated Sydney! Upon arrival in Auckland, New Zealand, Blue Horizon arranged a private dine and learn with a retired New Zealand Supreme Court Justice to discuss landmark legal issues which impact the indigenous Maori population before the group set out for Rotorua the next day. BLUE HORIZON YACHT CHARTERS offers private crewed yacht charters in the Virgin Islands. A sailing vacation is ideal for singles, couples or families. Every charter is different and unique. Everything is customized for the group according to their time, budget & interests. This summer we had a multigenerational family of five with ages ranging from16 years to 75 with varying interests. After looking at several boats that we offer, they chose the Catamaran Steppin Up with 3 gueen cabins each with their own bath. The family filled out food, drink & activity preference sheets which were sent down to the crew. A personalized menu and suggested itinerary was arranged. Since the kids had never been in the ocean we recommended the family stay their 1st night at Emerald Beach Resort in St. Thomas. The next day the family boarded their Catamaran in Red Hook and sailed over to Watermelon Bay, St. John, for some snorkeling and anchorage for the evening. In the morning they sailed into the British Virgin Islands; cleared customs at Soper’s Hole in Tortola and got a little taste of island shopping. From there the family with the Captain and his 2 new teenage crew members sailed over to Norman Island for some snorkeling at the Caves and later drinks at the Willy T, a floating bar. Since no one in the group was a scuba diver, activities for the whole week revolved around beaches, snorkeling, paddle boarding, hiking and sailing. Each day with the help of the Captain and our suggestions, the family planned their own activities. Highlights included snorkeling at the Indians; Deadman’s Bay, Peter Island; the Baths on Virgin Gorda; Feeding the Tarpon at Saba Rock; White Beach & the Soggy Dollar Bar, Jost Van Dyke; Prickly Pear Island and the Wreck of the Rhone.
Wandering Puffin LLC2021-04-14T15:42:43-05:00
The Wandering Puffin travels to Europe and other parts of the world several times a year to attend on site travel trade shows and seminars and to connect with local tour and travel companies. This enables me to provide exceptional services and insight to my valued clients and a more personalized experience arranging their upcoming adventure to the destination(s) of which they have been dreaming. My travels sometime overlap a client’s trip I have arranged to that same destination. Unbeknownst to the client, I will show up and provide them personal insight to the destination. This has happened on several occasions, most recently in Iceland a few weeks back, and arranging a lunch for the clients during their stay. This also happened in Budapest where I boarded a river cruise ship on which my clients were to set sail as well as having hosted another client to some of the wine regions outside of Budapest. Also, by attending these events or re-connecting with a destination, I receive soon thereafter, requests from clients who wish to explore these destinations in the near future. This has happened twice this year when I went to the Baltic States of Latvia and Lithuania. Within one week of my return, I received a request for a travel adventure from a honeymoon client. This also happened recently after a self- drive trip to Spain and Portugal. One of my valued clients learned of my trip and requested a self- drive for themselves to the same region. I try to personalize each and every travel adventure I arrange for my valued clients and am there from the early planning stages to the follow up upon their return from their travel adventure. Meetings arranged by appointment only.

I drive a wrapped Sandals Car with a beautiful beach scene on one side and kids snorkeling on the other, the car embarrasses my daughter to no end and I keep explaining to her the benefits of driving such a car. The funniest thing that has happened to me while driving this vehicle was when I arrived at my office, got out of my car and just as I was walking across the parking lot I heard a man’s voice saying “I promise I’m not stalking you, but I did follow you here from Dixon” (Dixon is 12 miles away) you could probably imagine the look on my face! He proceeded to tell me that he was looking for a travel agent; theirs had just got married and moved out west. He said that they were from out of town and his wife had sent him to run some errands, he spotted my car and decided to follow me. I welcomed him into the office and said “I’d love to be your new travel agent, where would you like to go?” and he said “Ireland”, I immediately started to laugh and said “I’m from Ireland and today is your lucky day”. He told me what he wanted to experience in my home land and I made my recommendations accordingly. They booked a 10 day trip, had an amazing personalized experience and are already looking at next year!!!

We specialize in planning memory-filled vacations in Hawaii and were especially thrilled to arrange a family celebration of three generations for a 50th wedding anniversary trip. We made all the arrangements for a New Year’s cruise of the Hawaiian islands aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America, visiting Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island of Hawaii. The day the ship stopped in Kauai, we created a self-drive itinerary so the family could enjoy their own day as they pleased. We reserved a 12-passenger minivan for the family and mapped out an exciting day that included Waimea Canyon and its endless breathtaking sights, the iconic lush-green cliffs along the Napali Coast, and a relaxing stop at the famed St. Regis Princeville Resort for tropical drinks and incredible views. The perfect day was capped off with a plantation house dinner arranged by us at Roy’s Poipu Bar and Grill, which has now become Eating House 1849 with chef Roy Yamaguchi’s style of Hawaiian haute cuisine. On the Big Island, we recommended the family plan a day at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We told them about the must-see stops such as the Kilauea Visitors Center and the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. Also included in their itinerary was a visit to the Jaggar Museum, a museum on volcanology and lava types. The museum contains Hawaii cultural exhibits too and just outside is The Overlook with a view of the Ka’u Desert Wilderness. After leaving the National Park, and before heading back to the ship, we routed them to the Volcano Winery for a Hawaiian wine tasting and shopping. This award-winning winery features unique blends with local tropical fruits and honey from the blossoms of macadamia nut trees. The vines for their estate Pinot Noirs thrive in the volcanic soil. After a final glass of wine, another special day ended before a spectacular dinner on the ship.

As a wife and Mom, I understand the value of quality time spent with my husband and son, and while we always have a lot of fun together (at least most days), some of the best memories we have are from trips we’ve taken together. Whether it is a vacation at an all-inclusive resort where we had the unique opportunity to release baby sea turtles together and to swim with whale sharks, a cruise in the Bahamas with Mickey Mouse, or a once-in-a-lifetime Mom/son visit to Machu Picchu in South America, I feel vacations provide perfect opportunities for couples and families to bond over shared experiences. I haven’t found anything to beat these memories. Ask my son about his favorite times, and he’ll always have a vacation-related story to tell you. Of course, his version of events is much more exciting than mine. Those whale sharks I mentioned? He’ll tell you, “Mom rode a whale shark!” Truthfully, one of those massive creatures came up underneath me and side-swiped me with its fin and tail. He’ll tell you my hand caught on fire while zip lining in Costa Rica when the truth is that my glove got snagged on a wire and tore a hole. We have had some absolutely amazing adventures as a family, and you can, too! As your travel consultant, I am here to help you in whatever capacity you need. Whether you simply require someone to review your research work before you book your own trip, or you need a lot of hand-holding and reassurances as we work together to plan your vacation, I will customize the travel planning process to suit your individual needs. I’m great at working with new travelers and experienced travelers, too. Want to communicate by text? In person? Over the phone? By email? All of that works for me. Want to meet in a coffee shop after work to discuss your trip? That’s fine, too. My goal is to help make the travel planning experience as easy and stress-free as possible for you. I’ll provide my best recommendations and ideas to enhance your trip while respecting your budget. While I have a lot of personal experience traveling with my family, I also try to take advantage when work opportunities arise to visit new destinations on my own. By experiencing new places and services for myself, I am much better at meeting your needs, and answering your specific questions. I’ll share photos I’ve taken on my social media channels. I’ll always be honest when asked a question about my experiences. I’m very open and frank, and I have a sense of humor. While I take my work seriously, I try not to take myself too seriously. I believe planning a vacation should be half the fun of the trip! My personal travel experiences and unique relationships with my trusted travel suppliers allow me to offer the very best in service to you. Looking for old-fashioned customer service and someone who will respond promptly to your questions? I’m that person. Looking for great value for your vacation? I will help you find it. Need help figuring out where to go and what to do once you get there? That’s where I excel. Let’s get started helping you to make those life-changing, family-bonding, life-long kinds of memories. I’m here when you’re ready.
Island Travel Group2021-04-15T15:25:37-05:00
We were once asked to book a high end all-inclusive for a gentleman and his wife. He hadn’t used a travel agent before. After visiting with him about their lifestyle and travel habits, we suggested an ocean front villa. This villa was perhaps opposite of what he originally asked for, and half the price. But we felt certain it would exceed his vacation expectations. That was 20 years ago and they haven’t missed a year returning to that very villa, often bringing friends and family along. Another time there were a small group of sisters planning a cruise. They came from different financial situations. We convinced them to choose a more moderate priced sailing and more mass market ship, to suit the sisters on a budget. Yet we found the perfect new ship that would satisfy a more luxurious taste. The sisters had the time of their life, and we opened up a new perspective for the higher end, frequent travelers in the group. At 5:30am we received a call from a honeymoon couple traveling to Antigua. Their flight had cancelled and there were no available flights for at least 3 days! They were frantic. Within one hour, we rebooked them to a sister resort on a neighboring island in the Caribbean, and within 2 hours they were flying high! They still talk about how we saved their honeymoon!! When traveling, always bring along your sense of humor. It’s never certain if you will reach your destination. But you always have our 25 years of experience and 24/7 support!

Elm Grove Travel2022-01-11T12:40:14-06:00
We would love to work with you….but rather than us telling you why…please see what our clients have to say: Crystal P, December 2021 Elm Grove travel has been our travel agency for many years, we book everything from flights to cruises, to tropical destinations. They are friendly and handle every detail, which allows me to enjoy my vacation to the fullest! I would recommend them to everyone! #elmgrovetraveler Molly F, November 2021 Amy helped us plan our honeymoon and WE ARE SO THANKFUL. She took two people who had no idea where they wanted to go, only 10 days off, wanted all-inclusive-like but with opportunities for self-guided adventuring, and whose only idea was “beach” and gave us the perfect trip. When we said Greece probably took too long to get to given the amount of days we planned to take off, she suggested a gorgeous resort in Spain (nearby wonderful Mediterranean towns) with day trips nearby. She was amazing throughout the whole process. On top of all her wonderful planning – she was honest with us about budget and didn’t just offer trips at the top of our price range. We will be back for our next vacation! Tim D, October 2021 Our trip to Hawaii in October 2021 was fantastic. Cindy made the planning go so smoothly. Our accommodations were outstanding and the excursions were perfect. We are already working with Cindy and Elm Grove Travel on our next vacation. Greg B, September 2021 Worked with Tracie H. on our family’s recent trip to Cabo. We hadn’t used a travel agent in years, but due to all of the moving parts with international travel and COVID, we engaged with Tracie. She was responsive, took time to understand our needs and was an absolute pleasure to work with. When some of the accommodations at the hotel were not properly taken care of by a third party, Tracie quickly responded during off hours and helped us get things remedied quickly. Kali W, August 2020 We learned of Elm Grove Travel at a wedding show and it seemed too good to be true- someone else was going to do all the honeymoon planning for free and we just had to decide what we wanted to do. No way can it be that easy! BUT IT IS! When we met with Cailyn, she helped us select a destination that not only fit our budget, but our desires too. She’s constantly finding us better deals and is SO responsive to any question we have (and trust me, I always have questions!). When COVID hit, I was super nervous about what would happen to our honeymoon, but Cailyn has handled EVERYTHING, keeping us informed and updated as changes occur. I am so grateful for her and Elm Travel and I will be using them again for any upcoming travel needs. Dayna R, March 2020 My husband and I have now worked with Elm Grove travel twice and have had great experiences both times. We actually do not even live in Wisconsin, we live in Florida, but my sister in law had referred us to them and we haven’t looked at another travel agency since. Recently we worked with Chris Hoff to plan our honeymoon of a lifetime. We went to Maui, Hawaii first and then flew to Bora Bora! We needed assistance booking our flights to Bora Bora as well as our hotel in both locations. We were so busy wedding planning that we truly did not have time to do a lot of our own research. However, once we told Chris exactly what we were looking for, she made it happen within a couple of hours. Julie V, June 2019 Shelley Kavalary did an amazing job of helping to plan a once in a lifetime trip for my parents, myself and my 17 year old daughter covering London, Paris, Rome and a cruise to the Greek islands in a span of 2 weeks. The execution was flawless. She recommended Monogram tours for London, Paris and Rome- and they exceeded our expectations in each city. It was just the right blend of making us feel comfortable, but allowing us to explore each city on our own. Drew B, April 2019 Just got back from a week at Dreams Punta Cana. Was terrific! Highly recommend it. Beautiful grounds, good service, good food, great beach, lots going on, very relaxing and fun. Thanks to Betty Durso for getting us set up for the trip!
