For Linda Schreiber, founder and president of Starship Travel, a passion for travel has grown into a remarkable 40-year journey of helping people explore the world. Her journey began during a group trip to South Korea, Hong Kong, and Japan. When unexpected problems disrupted the vacation, Linda found herself stepping in to help fellow travelers navigate the challenges. That experience sparked an idea: travelers deserved knowledgeable professionals who would advocate for them every step of the way.
After attending travel school and gaining experience with several agencies, Linda launched Starship Travel, determined to build a business centered on personalized service, integrity, and genuine relationships.
A Family Business Built on Experience
Raised in Skokie, Illinois, Linda credits her father’s strong community involvement and dedication to family with shaping her values. Those principles continue to guide her business today.
Family has always played an important role in Starship Travel’s success. Linda’s twin sister has worked alongside her as a travel advisor for 26 years, while her brother helped establish the company’s original technology systems.
Today, Starship Travel operates from South Elgin with more than 20 experienced travel advisors, many of whom have been with the agency for decades.

When travel came to a halt in 2020, Linda and her team worked tirelessly to cancel and reschedule vacations, helping clients preserve more than $5 million in travel investments, according to Linda.
