Town and Country Travel has enjoyed sending clients to Alaska to explore and experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. One of these adventure trips we recently planned for a family included fishing on the Kenai Peninsula.
The trip began with one night in Anchorage at the Lakefront Anchorage. The next morning, the family rode in the luxury dome rail car of the Alaska Railroad to Denali National Park. During their three nights in Denali, they took the Backcountry Adventure Tour. On this amazing tour, they saw nine grizzly bears, countless caribou, three families of ptarmigan, several moose, one was a bull, and a silver white wolf. The sun shone one day giving them a gorgeous view of Mt. McKinley, a rare sight for the tallest mountain in North America.
After Denali, the family took the train back to Anchorage for another overnight at the Lakefront Anchorage followed by another ride in a luxury dome rail car to Seward where they boarded a Kenai Fjords Cruise offered by Major Marine Tours. Then we arranged for them to stay two nights at the Harbor 360 Hotel.
The next morning, we planned a full-day fishing charter for halibut and salmon with Aurora Charters. While the husband, son and daughter love deep-sea fishing, the wife was hesitant preferring laying by a gentle stream reading a good book. Captain John and first-mate Caleb were gracious, very helpful and knew just where to fish. After reaching their limit of halibut and salmon, Captain John moved the catamaran to an area for rock fishing. The seas started to kick up generating 8 to 10 foot swells. Because the wife was a little frightened by the rough seas, the boat made its way safely back to port. The family had a great experience.
The family closed out the trip with a visit to the Alaska SeaLife Center and a dog sled tour with visit to the kennels provided by IdidaRide Dog Sled Tours.
This is one example of the spectacular trips we can help our clients experience working with Town and Country Travel.
